Heavy Rescue Division

St. Albans Town Heavy Rescue responds to motor vehicle accidents, all terrain rescue, and medical assists in St. Albans Town. Heavy Rescue also responds to motor vehicle accidents with confirmed entrapment in surrounding towns that do not have hydraulic rescue tools.

5-Rescue 1 is equipped with Hurst hydraulic Jaws Of Life rescue tools, vehicle stabilization equipment, accident fluids cleanup supplies, basic life support medical supplies, and a Stokes all terrain rescue basket.

St. Albans Town Heavy Rescue received the Hurst "Rescue of the Year" award for their extrication efforts at a motor vehicle accident in 2001.
